I believe in the exploration of home. There is nothing that saddens me more than when I hear a child, or even an adult, say that there is nothing left to be explored. I believe that there will always be an adventure to be had, an experiment to be conducted, a discovery to be made.
Every Friday, look no farther than this blog for an article focused on the kingdom of home. This may include observations, experiments, or how-to articles related to something within the house. (Look forward to a lot of dog training and novel writing articles, because those are my favorite things to do.)
To help keep things organized, we have divided up all the categories into rooms of the house, so you can more easily find the articles you personally like to read. These include:
The Chicken Coop
We have a chicken coop in our backyard with a few laying hens. Future experiments include clicker training them, comparing egg laying with various foods and supplements, and attempting to observe what a chicken considers to be a natural diet.
The Dog House
I love dogs. I love both writing about them, and studying them. Future experiments include testing out several products to see if they work (I’m looking at you, “shed less” shampoo!) as well as a few behavior and intelligence questions I have.
The Fish Tank
While I don’t presently have a betta, I loved training and studying the one I did have for as long as he lived. If I ever get another betta, I’ll be working on answering questions on tank size and decoration preferences. Yes, they actually do care.
I am an avid gardener, and absolutely love growing fresh fruit and vegetables to eat. Experiments planned include testing whether moon phase actually has anything to do with plant growth at all, and whether traditional rows or square foot gardening yields more results.
The Junk Drawer
For all those odds and ends posts that don’t actually have a place, like this one! Anything we don’t know what to do with we shovel in the junk drawer just like in real life.
I love to cook. I also love making cute little movies that show the recipe being made, and eating the results. I don’t have any experiments planned, but I do plan on a lot of eating. You might as well get something out of it. 🙂
The Living Room
My husband loves watching anime, and loves dragging me away from my books and my writing to show me one I’m just going to love. Reviews of various anime from an average human to come.
The Mail Box
If you guys decide to send me your questions, this is where I will try to answer them. 🙂
Where all my many writing, blogging, and reading posts will go. Expect a lot of these. Future experiments include reading writing books and testing out just how good the advice is on real working samples. I’m excited about this one.
One big note though:
While my main goal is to share my experiments with you, many of them are actually several months in the making. As an example, I am currently tracking my dog’s shed cycle so I can have a base to compare the after-shed-shampoo brush outs. It will take a minimum of 8 weeks to get a good picture of her shed cycle, and that’s if I remember to brush every day! Because of that, while there will be an article every week, there will only be a few experiments every year.
I hope you enjoy what I come up with, and visit my house often!
