So today I was going about my life as a Renegade Housewife, getting the dishes done and doing laundry. It’s a lot of work, but work has been slow the past few days so I’m taking advantage of that quiet time to make my house respectably clean.
In the bottom of the basket my son hauled out of his room while cleaning (good job son!) I found socks, still matched together, and a pair of pants, still folded. Now I know what you are probably thinking. “Be grateful he even cleans his room!” Yada yada. And yes, I am grateful that I have stood over him with an imaginary bullwhip in my hands enough times to where he knows that when I say clean up, it happens.
Still, washing the laundry, making sure it gets in the dryer before it starts moldering in there and has to be rewashed, dragging it to my bedroom to fold, and then making sure they get to the appropriate drawer during appropriate times (not easy when my husband works nights and my son needs to be in bed by 8PM) takes a lot of work!
My son is not the only one who does it. I find shirts knocked off the closet hangers and scooted into the dirty laundry pile (located beside the empty hamper) all the time. It’s a frustrating cycle.
Does anyone else have this problem? Am I the only Renegade who has to deal with tons of unnecessary washing? You tell me in the comments section.
